It may interest you to note that our Pinoy Blogger (PB) himself had a history of a mild heart attack in 2002 and had to undergo an angioplasty procedure, then was hospitalized for a week in the US after a mild heart attack in September 2010.

Now he has regained his full health with normal blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol level using God given means and natural remedies to keep up with the challenges of life in this world. Yes, he has stopped using any sort of medication. It is indeed a miracle and blessing from God and he feels he is on a mission to share this to the world that others may enjoy God’s gift of life, that they too may share the light.

He felt that his mild stroke experience was a revelation from God Almighty through the Holy Spirit that in reality, we have an immune system God has created to help us heal ourselves, and we have to be thankful to God for that, not ourselves to thank but God, so that in all good things may be glorified.

And in following Jesus Christ’s words of love, humility, understanding and forgiveness, with hope and full trust in him, devoid of pride and any malice against another, ever thankful in all circumstances as in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, counting more our blessings more than our hurts make us one with Christ.  And you will see what  true peace and happiness means in our life in Christ.  Yes, it’s just like being in heaven.

And with natural supplements and anti-oxidants, which rhyme perfectly with our immune system, and the more we become happy with God, the healthier we become.

Uhum?  Yes, this may not make sense to you unless you learn to open your heart and spirit to the Lord.

His daily regimenprayers and faith in Jesus’ healing power is number one; taking 2000mg of Vitamin C, 1x multi vitamins, 1xgrape seeds, 2x650mg Calcium Lactate, 1xVCO (Virgin Coconut Oil), 4 oz or ¼ cup of red wine, 1 to 2 glasses of green tea, rice with onions, garlic and pineapple vinegar on it (to neutralize sugar level and keep body organs healthy) – all of these with grapefruits, bananas, strawberries/cucumber and cantaloupe/watermelon on the sides depending on availability(mostly anti-oxidants) coupled with 2 or three times a week 45 min brisk walking and a gym workout.

Here are some healthy suggestions which you may find useful for healthy living… collected from choice emails backed by plausible health and scientific research on eating fruits, avoiding cancer and knowing early signs of a heart attack and stroke.

EATING FRUITS

Eating fruits is not only about buying what fruits we like, cutting them and just popping them into our mouths. It is important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!

FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let us say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining – every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc – actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying food and produces gas; hence, you (may) bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these (may) not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the (“Secret”) of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice – drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Do not even drink juice that has been heated up. Do not eat cooked fruits because you do not get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking (usually)destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer..

WATERMELON, MELON AND CANTALOUPE: Coolest thirst quencher. Watermelon is composed of 92% water while Melon and Cantaloupe at almost 90%. Watermelon is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. It is also a key source of lycopene – the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium. Melon and Cantaloupe are rich in vitamin A and Potassium as well. All of these fruits can help maintain a normal blood pressure.

GUAVA, PAPAYA AND BANANA: While guava and papaya are top awards for vitamin C because of their high vitamin C content, banana is rich in potassium which is good for all muscle tissues including the heart and helps maintain a normal blood pressure too. Like banana, guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal (may lead to) = Cancer! Can you believe this? For those who like to drink cold water, this article (may be helpful) to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this ‘sludge’ reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine(s) faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine(s). Very soon, this will turn into fats and (may)lead to cancer. (Therefore,) it is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.”

EARLY SIGNS OF A HEART ATTACK:

Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms, and pain on the shoulders or nape as well.

Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let us be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.”

RED WINE:

Red wine, which is made from grapes, is now being widely accepted as an anti-oxidant which can also help lower down cholesterol level on top of being a natural complement that has helped in healing some cancer patients.

A blood clot is the main cause of a stroke or a heart attack, and PB found red wine as being effective too in dilating the blood performing as a blood thinner, especially when taken with nitric oxide (NO).

As Dr. Andrew Weil, renowned leader and pioneer of integrative medicine, puts it in his book, Spontaneous Healing, “alcohol can enhance the production of good cholesterol,” and PB finds red wine as a very good example for this as the more nutritious part of the grapes, which is the skin, is retained and made more potent making red wine as more effective antioxidant.

NITRIC OXIDE:

Dr. Louis J. Ignarro, together with his colleagues Ferid Murad and Robert Furchgott, contributed their discovery to the whole world about this miracle molecule, NO (Nitric Oxide), which was found to help dilate the blood vessels, an effective way of preventing heart ailments. And this earned him the prestigious Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1998 as he wrote on his book “No More Heart Disease”, a national bestseller.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE:

“Pray and thank God for the sense to remember the “3” steps, STR, in recognizing a stroke. Sometimes symptoms are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe grain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S = Ask the individual to SMILE

T = Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE(Coherently)(eg., It is sunny out today.)

R = Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Another sign of a stroke is a CROOKED TONGUE if you ask him or her to stick it out. If it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

There was an incident in a BBQ party where a woman stumbled and took a little fall. She assured everyone she was fine(despite of offers to call paramedics) and she said she just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

She got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, she went about enjoying herself for the rest of the evening.

Her husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital but it wast too late as she passed away at 6pm. She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps, she would still be alive today. Some do not die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.”

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke. He said the trick was getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours which is tough.

A cardiologist says spreading these effective ways of saving lives can be very helpful. And who knows, the next life you save can be yours.
